"I recently took a clinic from Shelley at Bar 7 Ranch in Hillman, MN and it was one of the best clinics I have ever taken.  I take clinics and lessons whenever I can to improve both my horsemanship and my sorting skills and this clinic covered both.  She gave us drills to work on for dry work that made sense and were easy to understand.  She laid out strategy for multiple scenarios in the sorting pen and explained so we could understand it and apply it.  The work on cattle was perfect.  Slow precision was emphasized and that is exactly what I needed.  This particular clinic was open to everyone and there were many different levels of riders and horses, she worked with everyone at the level they were at.  If you have a chance to take a clinic from Shelley, do it, you won't be disappointed."

I was a trail rider.  I had shown when I was a kid but never did anything "fast".  When I found ranch sorting I fell in love.  But I could not ride like "that"...I only dreamed of riding like that.  One day at a team penning (I was there watching and wishing) I saw Shelley Fitzgerald ride.  OMG... I thought to myself I would kill to ride half that good.  Low and behold she was going to be having a clinic near me.  I jumped at it...took my trail horse and had the time of my life.  I have now taken lessons and clinics from Shelley for years.  She has given me a gift she probably doesn't even know she's given me.  At one time I could only dream of riding like "that"... now I'm living my dreams.  When I ride my horse she is like an extension of me.  She knows what I want with the smallest of cues.   I have gone from the bottom to a 5 all with the guidance of Shelley. I have won Reserve at the AQHA world show in Ranch Sorting in 2010.  It has been a dream come true for me.  Shelley has been the most instrumental in teaching me horsemanship as it applies to ranch sorting.  I'm still having the time of my life.

Well my husband and I just attended a sorting clinic given by Shelley Fitzgerald. We can't say enough about the clinic, so much information, individual needs addressed,  hands on sorting, and dry work exercises that made such a difference. We have so many things that we walked away with that we are practicing and using to warm up before a show. We just got back from a show, which was a week later and pulled five checks!!!! We can't wait till next spring when she is coming back to put another clinic on. Extra bonus Shelly is genuinely a nice person and you will enjoy her company. Thanks again Shelley, we learned a lot and really enjoyed it.

My husband and I had the privilege of attending a two-day clinic with Shelley. We have very limited sorting experience however had purchased horses that were familiar with the sport. Shelley provided her expertise and gave us much more confidence to move forward in the sorting world. We very much appreciated her ability to teach and correct with an approach that met each one of us at our ability level. We look forward to attending another clinic with Shelley.

I attending a sorting clinic with Shelly at Bar 7 Ranch in Hillman, Minnesota on July 21-22nd. It was by far the BEST CLINIC EVER!!! I’ve been to a lot of sorting clinics and have always wanted some ‘dry work” exercises that I could do at home. I would get some basic info but no actual exercises. Shelly gave us a bunch of things we could practice on by ourselves. She explained not only how we should do it but how it pertains to sorting, controlling the cows, etc. I would recommend anyone , at any level, to attend one of her clinics!!! Can’t wait for the next one!!!

I have been to several clinics to learn how to work cows. This clinic with Shelley was by far the best clinic I have ever been to.

There was a lot of ground work which I have had with other clinics but Shelley explains how each and every one of them applies to how it is used in the sorting pens. Makes everything crystal clear. She truly has her ways of making sure that you understand everything.

She will be bringing the clinic back to our area in the spring and I will be there. Can’t wait.

I would recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking to improve their sorting skills or just learning how to move cows in the right way.
