With a lifelong passion for horsemanship and cattle events, Shelley has dedicated decades to developing exceptional horses, mentoring riders, and helping shape the sport into what it is today.

Shelley's equine career spans multiple disciplines, including cutting, working cow horse, barrel racing, team roping, and ranch sorting. She began competing in team penning in 1988 and quickly established herself as a respected competitor and horsewoman. In 1990, she moved to Germany, where she spent six months training American Quarter Horses across a variety of disciplines, further expanding her knowledge and expertise.

When ranch sorting was introduced at the Oklahoma State Fair, Shelley was among the early competitors who embraced the sport and helped fuel its growth. Through her involvement, dedication, and competitive success, she has played an instrumental role in the evolution of ranch sorting from its early beginnings into one of the most popular western equine sports in the country.

Today, Shelley specializes in training ranch sorting horses, conducting clinics, providing private instruction, and helping riders find the right equine partners to achieve their goals. Her ability to match horses and riders, combined with her deep understanding of cattle work and horsemanship, has made her a sought-after coach and mentor.

A highly accomplished competitor, Shelley is a Top 10 All-Time Money Earner in the Ranch Sorting National Championships and a multiple-time World Champion through the American Quarter Horse Association, Ranch Sorting National Championships, and United States Team Penning Association. Her achievements reflect not only her competitive excellence but also her enduring commitment to the western way of life.
